Do You Have Business Insurance?

So … you know how I have mentioned my business BFF, Melanie Moore, a few times here on the blog? Well, she has been after me to blog about this topic for a long time because she believes it is a resource that every direct seller needs, whether you have been in the business 10 days or 10 years. I will be honest, I kept pushing back on her about writing about this because it is totally out of my norm for this blog, it is something I am not an expert in, and truthfully it is a little depressing talking about insurance and accidents … but here comes a #truthbomb – “sometimes bad stuff happens to good people”! I want nothing more than to share an awesome resource that could help you should any of that bad stuff happen to you, something that will protect the well-being of your family & your personal family finances!

So here we are, I am going to do it!
We are going to talk about getting BUSINESS INSURANCE for your direct sales business!
YES, such a thing does exist!
YES, you can get it quickly and easily!
YES, you need it!

Why You Need Business Insurance:

Times have changed, my friends, and if you do not have insurance coverage for your business, you should! You are entering people’s private homes, what if you knock over the Hostess’s prize possession with your bag? Or you are carrying-pulling-dragging products, tables, garment racks, and shelving units into vendor events, what if you take out another vendor’s table or worse, hit a child with one of your poles as you blindly walk in carrying more than you should because you are trying to minimize your trips in and out to the car? And with the Spring vendor event season upon us, I have noticed more and more venues requiring “proof of insurance” in order to participate. Do you have proof of insurance for your business? Most home owner’s policies DO NOT cover your business.

I know, I get it, “but that would never happen to me”. But that’s just it, it DOES happen to people like us every day. You need to think proactively for your business and be prepared for the “what if”, just like you do for your home, your health and your cars. Insurance exists to cover the unknown and the accidents.


Getting Quotes:

I am sure you can connect with your own local insurance provider and get quotes, but I went with an insurance company that was referred to me. Just so you know, I do not get any kick backs for this, I just want to provide you with information and a valuable resource that I have found to get you & your family protected!

This insurance company specifically caters to direct sellers and understands our language, that is what I like about them. For only $75 a year, you get $2 million in general liability insurance for your business (including property and bodily injury), plus $3,000 for property coverage (including products and samples). I have looked into other options and for me, this is the best deal.


Printable Insurance Certificates for Events:

But here is what I love the most about this company, the printable event insurance certificates! I can download and print them myself anytime I need to provide them for an event (I just bring it with me to each event). Other companies require you to request a certificate and then you wait until they send it, some charge you extra to print a certificate, but with this company, I can just go print it on my own whenever I need it. They have been a Direct Sales Association Supplier for 27 years, which is quite impressive. And I know that they offer health insurance for Independent Contractors too, but I have not looked into that yet myself, you can check it out on their website.

When you apply for coverage from them, you will have to choose your company from the dropdown menu, they cover A LOT of companies, but not every company out there. A quote from their FAQ page says, “Because we must look at the nature of the product being sold, we must qualify all direct selling companies. When you enroll you need to select from the approved list of companies the one you represent. If your company does not show up on our list then our insurance carrier has not approved issuing a policy to cover your activities on their behalf. We cannot write policies unless your company is on the approved list of companies. Remember coverage will only be for you as a sale representative for the company you register for as an authorized representative.”


Do Your Own Research:

I invite you to check out getting insurance specifically for your business, the truth is …. when you are working with tons of people, taking credits cards and cash, carrying things in and out of locations … you just never know what is going to happen. I am not claiming to know everything about everything when it comes to business insurance, but I can tell you for certain that for $75 a year, it gives me enormous peace of mind that my family is protected from loss. You will need to do your own due diligence and research what is best for your family.

February Thirty-One Facebook Party Script-Spring Catalog 2016

February Facebook Party Script**below you will find my entire 4 day Facebook script for February 2016 with all images.

I want to make it FUN for my hostesses and guests!!

So this is my 4 day Facebook party I have created:

1. 4 posts a day

2. I post using, so I can pre-post all of those. If you don’t use cinchshare, you SHOULD!

3. I post at 9am, 1pm, 4pm, and 8pm each day

I do a Facebook event the same way for every party. Whether they are having a home show, a catalog show, a Fundraiser, or a Facebook Party. They all get the same 4 day event. This is my way to get in front of as many people as I possibly can!

** I created a BUSINESS PAGE on Facebook that is ONLY for graphics. Do not “like” that page or draw any attention to it PLEASE> That is ONLY to house my albums in a “public” place. You will need to make your own PAGE and your own ALBUMS. But it should be pretty easy if you just choose some of the photos from the albums I already made. You can copy each album and all photos. I don’t mind.

It is IMPERATIVE that you watch this video BEFORE you try to do this script. You HAVE to understand the way this works.

***You canNOT put 31 or Thirty-One in the NAME of your Facebook Business page. The goal is NOT to draw attention to that page and keep just for your parties. And it is against policy and procedure to have 31 or Thirty-One in the title of ANY page.

**You need to read through each post to make sure it doesn’t have any of MY personal information and make it personal to you!

***It takes some time to load these albums, much less for you because i did all the hunting down and organizing for you! But the good thing is…I can change my script up, add pictures, change pictures, and change the BODY of the script…but still keep the albums! My goal is to show them the function and find some new ways to make it interactive.

I focused on the product lines I wanted to showcase, booking seeds, recruiting seeds, and lead generation (getting follow-up information).

I wrote down a list of absolutely everything I wanted to post in a FB event. And this is the outline I ended up with:

Party Games for Your Direct Sales Business

Using games at your home show parties is nothing new. But I thought I’d share a few in my vault. Very few of these are mine originally. And unfortunately, I have no idea who they came from to give credit to. But I wanted to pass along what I had in case you were looking for some ideas to spice it up:)


How Well Do You Know Your Hostess Game

Give a piece of paper numbered 1 – 10 (or give them a blank sheet and let them number it). Ask them to write the answers to the following questions with the goal of writing what the hostess writes! Guests want to match the hostess’s answers!

At the end of the game, the guest who had the most answers matching the answers of the hostess wins. (Be sure to have additional gifts in case of a tie!)

After everyone has answered the questions, re-ask the questions and have the hostess give her answers. Have the guests circle the question number if their answer matches that of the hostess. At the end, whoever has the most circles wins. Be sure to have extra prizes in case of a tie!



You tell the hostess to message all her guests the night before and day of the party. And ask them to bring a cup, any cup from their cabinet. Then you do a point system to see who the winner is according to these points.

The Snow Woman Game
Each player gets a black piece of paper and chalk. (Paper and Pencil/ Pen will work also)!
As I call out an instruction, draw that and then hold up your pen in the air when you are done.
The trick is…you must keep your eyes closed the entire time, until I tell you to open them.
On the left hand side of the paper, draw a Christmas tree.
On the Christmas tree, draw three glass ball Christmas ornaments.
On the top of your tree, draw a star.
Under your tree, draw a present.
On the right hand side of your paper, draw a snow woman.
Draw hands and arms on your snow woman.
In the hand of the snow woman, put a dollar bill and write $99 on it.
Now draw two more snow women on the right hand side of the paper.
Last, write your name on the bottom of your paper and give your paper to the person on the left
of you.
Now we will “grade” each other’s art!
If the picture you are holding has ornaments on the Christmas tree, give them 1 point.
If the present is under the tree, give them 1 point.
If the star is on the tree, give them 1 point.
If the snow woman has hands and arms attached to her body, give them 1 point.
If the dollar bill has $99 written in it, give them 1 point.
If the two snow women are standing next to each other and not on top of each other or on top of
the other snow woman, give them 1 point.
Now write the number of points at the top of the paper and I will tell you what this picture
The three ornaments on the Christmas tree represent the father, son, and holy spirit. Thirty one is
a faith based company, built on the principles of Proverbs 31. This book in the bible tells of a
virtuous woman, cares for her family, who works both in and outside the home, to provide for
her family, and she is to be rewarded for her hard work and good deeds. We are all Proverbs 31

The star on the top of the Christmas tree, and the present underneath represent the gift of being
the “star” of your own party, when you are a Thirty-one hostess, you receive many rewards,
including the “gift” of shopping and girl time with friends and family in the comfort of your
home and free and discounted products!
The snow woman on the right represents a Thirty One consultant. This snow woman joined my
team for only $99, and got the entire kit on pictured on the back of the catalog. The money she is
holding represents the extra income you can earn with a Thirty One business. (Talk about your
why or the incentives you have received)
The three snow women together represents the 3 friends who will hold parties with you when
you decided to join my team and become a consultant, and also the new friends you will make
when you join the sisterhood of Thirty One!
Now, since Thirty One mission is to Celebrate, Encourage and Reward. Let’s reward the winner.
Everyone hold up their paper so we can see who has the most points!
Congratulations! (now give them a small gift!)


The Booty game: Guests sit in a circle. Each time they answer YES to a question, they get to move to the seat beside them even if there is still someone sitting there! They will have to sit on their lap… Winner= first to get all the way back where she started.

Will you book a 31 party tonight… you would be surprised what people will do to get that prize! Use this question when you see them getting close to their original seat… it may be the reason you get a party booked.


The Island Game 

(Each player gets a blank piece of paper and a pen)

Each player must close their eyes… no cheating!

After each step hold your pen up so I can see you’re done


In the center of your paper draw an island

On the left hand side of your island, draw a palm tree

Now draw three coconuts on your palm tree

On the right hand side of your island draw a stick figure of yourself

In the left hand of your stick figure draw a purse with the number 31 inside it.

Now write the word FREE under your purse

In the right hand of your stick figure draw a dollar bill and write the number 99 on it.

On the top right side of your paper draw three of your best friends

Write your name on the bottom of your paper

Open your eyes and pass your paper to the left.


If your palm tree is on your island – 1 point

If your coconuts are on your palm tree – 1 point

If you are on your island – 1 point

If you gave yourself hair – 1 point

If you gave yourself a face – 1 point

If your purse is in your hand – 1 point

If your money is in your hand – 1 point

If the word free is not touching your purse – 1 point

If the number 99 is actually on your dollar bill – 1 point

If your three best friends have hair – 1 point for each

Give yourself 1 point for each of your friends that is not touching another friend

This little game is easy to do, You just add figures like 2 plus 2.

Multiply, subtract, or divide, more and more,

There is a prize for the highest score.

Punctuality pays, so give yourself 8.

A necklace gives you 5, and earrings 3,

Glasses are 9 more when they are on you,

10 points more if your eyes are blue.

Have each guest write the names of two friends, two relatives, two co-workers, two neighbors and two club members. Give a prize to the first person finished. After they are through, tell them their guest list is already made out for their home (or book) party.


You will need: 4 envelopes and a basket with your inexpensive door prizes. Inside each envelope, put a small piece of paper folded several times so they can’t see it. On one, write $1.00; another $2.00; another $3.00; and another $5.00. Tell everyone what is inside and that they are gift certificate for tonight! Have the first person to your left pick one of the envelopes. But tell her she CAN’T LOOK!!!!
Now, play one of the “Right-Left” game and the envelope travels right and left. At the end, tell the person with the envelope “DON’T LOOK” ~ Because I want to “Make A Deal” with you. Say: “Since you didn’t pick the envelope, maybe your luck is better than hers…so you can trade for another envelope if you want to” (Hold the other envelopes out). Usually everyone is hollering “trade” or “don’t trade”).

Next, say, “DON’T LOOK!” ~ “I’ll make another deal with you…(Pull out your gift basket) “I will trade you the envelope for an item in my basket….that envelope could be worth $5 or maybe just $1” (Everyone is again yelling “trade” or “don’t trade”). She then makes her choice.

Then say, “DON’T LOOK!!!” ~”I have another deal to make with you….I will give you your envelope back and DOUBLE what’s inside or give you TWO prizes from my basket IF you will book a show tonight and help (Hostess) out.”

If she doesn’t book she gets either what’s in the envelope or her gift but MOST of the time they will book.



This is a fun game to relax everybody. Give each person a piece of paper. Tell them to lay in on the catalog and turn lengthwise on their laps. Tell them to close their eyes and keep them closed for the entire game.

We’re going on a Hawaiian vacation, so draw an island in the middle of your paper.

—to the left of your island, draw a ship

—you are surrounded by water, so put some fish in the sea

—this is Hawaii, so put a palm tree on the island

—its a nice day, so put some birds in the air

—that ship didn’t get there all by itself, so put a sailor on the ship

—he might get hungry, so draw some coconuts on the palm tree
—sailors like to see where they are going, so put some port holes on the ship

—sailors like entertainment, so draw a hula dancer on the island

—it’s a sunny day, so put a sun in the sky

Now you can open your eyes! We are going to see how well you did.

Score points if:

Your island is in the middle  10 points

Your ship is to the left of the island, but not touching  10 points

For each fish you have  5 points

For the base of the palm tree being on the island  5 points

For each bird you drew  5 points

If the sailor is on the ship, not swimming  15 points

If any coconut is on the tree  5 points

If the porthole is on the ship  10 points

If the hula dancer is on the island  15 points

Now the sun:

If to the left  20 points
If to the right  15 points

If in the middle  10 points

Highest points wins!



Imagine your paper is a park in the spring time, and follow my directions.

1. Draw a pond in the middle of your park.

2. Draw a sailboat on your pond.

3. The sun is shining high in the sky.

4. There is a big tree on the right side of the park.

5. There is an Easter basket under the tree.

6. There are eggs in the basket.

7. There are birds flying over the water.

8. One of the eggs hatched. Draw a baby chick by the basket

9. There are kids playing ball in the park.

10. Write the date that Easter falls on this year.

11. There is an Easter basket under the tree.

Give yourself points based on the following:

1. 5 points if your sailboat has more than 1 sail.

2. 10 points if your sun has rays.

3. 5 points if you drew a ball for the kids to play with.

4. 1 points for every egg that is touching the basket.

5. 5 points if your chick is on the ground and not in the tree.

6. 5 points if you knew that Easter was on _____ this year.

7. 1 point for every bird in the sky.

8. 10 points if your kids have faces and aren’t just circles.



1. Draw a pumpkin in the center of your page
2. Put some bats above the pumpkin

3. Draw a moon in the upper left corner

4. Oops! Please put eyes and a nose on your pumpkin

5. Put a spider web in the lower right hand corner

6. Did I ask you to put a stem on top of your pumpkin?

Please do that now!

7. Draw some bones below your pumpkin

8. Draw a ghost on your paper (ghosts are invisible remember?)

9. Please draw a witches broom on the left of the pumpkin

10. Oh yes please put a spider in that web.

Points scored as follows:

3 points if your pumpkin is in the middle of the page

1 point for every bat

2 points if the moon is in the left corner

2 points for the nose and each eye that is on the pumpkin

2 points if the web is in the lower right corner

4 points for the stem on top of the pumpkin

1 point for each bone

3 points if you can find the ghost

2 points if the broom is to the left of the pumpkin

10 points if the spider is in the web



Choose 10 letters. For example:











Tell the guests you’re going to call letters out. The first person to find something in their purse that starts with that letter, gets a ticket! Then you draw for a prize at the end. Warning, they get crazy fun and competitive with this one!

Dice Booking Game


Supplies needed:

  1. One pair of dice
  2. 11 cards with envelopes numbered 2-12
        • 2- GRAND PRIZE
        • 3,4,5,12- WIN A PRIZE
        • 6,7,8,9,10,11- BOOK A SHOW
  3. Several goodie bags (I put a votive and/or a tealight)


 Here’s how to play:


Ask, “Who here likes to gamble?   Great because I’ve got a gambling game for you!  The game is optional to play, but you will win something for playing every time.  The way the game works is you roll the dice and you get the coordinating envelope for the number you roll.”   (For example, if they roll a 3 and a 2 they get envelope #5.)  “Inside each envelope is a prize.  In one envelope it says GRAND PRIZE which is ________ (hold it up for them to see…if you don’t have the item, show them a picture of it in the catalog.)   Some of the envelopes say WIN A PRIZE.  If you get this envelope, you will get a goodie bag to take home tonight.   The rest of the envelopes have the best prize it them…they say BOOK A SHOW!  Now, the catch is whatever envelope you get, you have to follow through.  So, if you get grand prize, you have to take home the grand prize.  If you get Book a show, you have to book a show.  And just so you know, having a candle party is so easy.   All you do is give me a guest list and I send out the invitations for you.  Also, if you provide phone numbers, I will even give your friends a reminder call for you!   And then you reap all the rewards by getting loads of FREE products!  So, do I have any takers?”


Let them roll the dice and take their envelopes, but tell them not to open the envelopes yet.   After everyone that wants to has rolled, tell them, “Okay, I have a deal to make with you.  (Hold up trumpet jar) You can, regardless of what your envelope says, without even looking, go ahead and book a show.   If you do so, you will get a free jar candle like this one at your show AND you will still get the prize that is in your envelope.  Again, you will be helping _____ out, and earning lots of free stuff for yourself.”   Let them decide what to do.  Coax them along by reminding them they have a chance of getting book a show in their envelope and this way they get the jar for booking.   After everyone has decided whether or not to make the deal for the jar, let them open their envelopes.  Give prizes to those that earned them and book the shows of the people that made the deal or got it in their envelope.   Make sure you book the show THAT NIGHT EVEN IF IT IS TENTATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!


The Penny Game


When each person arrives at the gathering give them a penny and tell them to hold on to it for a game later in the evening. When you’re finished with the demo and everyone is about to order tell them about the penny. They have a few options. They can keep the penny as your gift to them. Or they can redeem their penny and save .01 on their order. Or they can give you the penny to “buy” a prize. Tell them ahead of time what the slips say so they can decide if they want to take a chance. If they decide to “buy” a prize, they must draw a slip from your mystery bag! Inside the bag have slips of paper with: 10% off your order, $2.00 off your order, free shipping, no tax, choose a gift.  They get to reach in the bag and draw a slip. If they are really lucky, they get to book a party ! They must choose a date that night so have your calendar handy. I’ve booked lots of demo’s from this. Everyone likes to try their luck and it’s a “pressure on them” way to get bookings!! Be sure to mark your slips as to not give away to many expensive items, shipping, etc.


Mystery Prize Balloon Game

Before the party blow up balloons and place a folded up slip of paper inside with a discount or a free item….whatever you’d like as an incentive.
As guests arrive, give them a balloon. As you hand it to them, say, “This is yours for the evening, hang on to it and don’t trade it away. You may be holding a special balloon.” When you open the show, casually remind them to hang on to their balloons, you will get to them later on. You will see them shaking the balloon and see the curiosity in her eyes. Towards the end of the evening tell the guests that if they decide to book a show with you tonight they get to keep the incentive/gift inside, otherwise they must return the balloon to you. Let them know if 3 of them pop their balloon, then the hostess gets to pop hers as well.  Wording is key here. There is not a person in that room who is not dying to know what her prize is….  Your hostess will also want to pop hers to see what her mystery prize is, so she will work to get other to pop theirs. Have them bring their balloon to you with their order and pop the balloon with you.

I like to put stickers on three catalogues at the party. They are mixed in when I pass them out at the party. At the end of the party I ask who has them and ask them to read aloud what they say. (they say things like ‘super’, ‘fantastic’, ‘hooray for you’)
then I say it back to the women with the sticker – It’s super, it’s fantastic, hooray for you!!! You three ladies get to book the next parties! Because you have the sticker, you’ll get an extra gift at your party. If you’re not going to use your sticker, give it to someone who will so they can get the prize. And hey, you get to spend a few more hours with me!!



Deck of Cards

When the guests arrive, hand each of them a card from a deck of playing cards. During your booking talk (right before you leave the room to heat up the soup), you say “If you book a Tasting, you can have any item in the catalog that is under $25, for the amount on your card. The Jack is free, ace is 1, Queen is 11 and King is 12. I’m going to pass my open dates sheet around the room on my clipboard so that you can choose a date that works best for you. Write the face value of your card beside your name on the open dates sheet.”


That should get you off to a great start!! I have had these saved for years, so I thought I’d pass some along!

Thirty-One Halloween Cinch Sacs BOO Party for September!

I shared this with my team and promised I would share here for everyone to use the wording! This is a great way to SQUEEEEEEZE one last September party in, and it’s leading up to the next two weeks of events I will be hosting. Don’t worry, I’ll share;)

What is it?

Sell 8 cinch sacs with embroidery and get a $200 party for yourself in September!! Create an event in your back office called BOO Bags. And get your ASK on!

Why in September?

Trust me. I’m setting us up for TWO big things the first 2 weeks of October. This is just the beginning and a way to get a head start on next weeks! Plus…I want that hostess blanket!!! And a paycheck on the 10th;) Plus…you’ll be able to order a cinch sac for FREE (with the hostess benefits from this party) to show off at your parties in October!

When is it due?

September 30th, get those orders in!! It’s important to give your customers the sense of urgency. “don’t want your favorite bag to sell out”.

Who do we ask?

EVERYONE! Post on Instagram, FB message your friends, post in your customer group, post the ones without prices on your main FB timeline, post on Pinterest, text your besties…make sure you’re asking all those moms and Grandmas too! You could also send an email to your customer base.

How can we increase those orders?

Show other ideas too. A) LUTs for Halloween storage decoration B) Littles carry alls for the little trick or treaters C) There are lots of ideas out there. Google “Thirty-One, Halloween” or search that on Pinterest. D) Do a drawing for anyone who shares the graphic and tags you.

5 Ways to Book a Party for Your Thirty-One Business

I recently did a training on booking for my team. Here is a list of ideas on “Booking 101”. These are the fundamental ideas to keep you going with a solid booked calendar for your direct sales business. Check this out below:

There are 5 main ways to keep a full booking calendar:

  1. Booking through new customers
  2. Booking through past customers
  3. Booking past hostesses
  4. Booking at the party
  5. Customer Page/Facebook

Handing out mini catalogs:

Everybody always asks me…WHAT DO YOU SAY….when you hand out mini catalogs??

“I just don’t know what to say”

Ready for it??? This is monumental…this is going to be a turning point in your career….pay very close attention… ready for it????……………..”Do you mind if I leave this with you?”

-she’ll say……. “Sure, what is it?”

-and you’ll say…. “I help people organize their lives. And this is our mini catalog. And if you fill out the form on the front and text me the picture of it, I’ll send you a free gift!”

 A great way to remind yourself to do this is to put a post it note on the front of each mini catalog

All you need to make your own is…………

**that was tough, right? It’s not hard. You simply have to get over the fear of talking to strangers.

**every Sunday….make up 25 mini’s….and put half of them in your purse and half of them in your CAR! Your job each week is to hand out 25 mini catalogs a week to complete strangers…

Who do you leave them with??

*** EVERYONE!!!! When you go into the……

-grocery store, give it to the cashier

-bank, send it in the tube

-gas station, give it to the clerk

-library, give it to the lady checking you out

-walmart, give it to the cashier

-doctor, leave some for the staff

-dollar store, give to the cashier

-WORK…leave in the BATHROOMS, breakrooms…

-servers….attach your bill to the mini catalog

ANYONE you come into contact with.  And when you get really good at this…you not only go into the dollar store you intended to, but you go into the store NEXT DOOR! Why not? You’re already THERE!

AND WHAT DO WE SAY WHEN WE HAND THEM OUT????? “Do you mind if I leave this with you???”

Now one more thing that’s fun to do……

You CAN get some kiddy looking goody bags and a sticker book, mini notepads, and a pack of 64 crayons at your dollar store.  Put some stickers, two sheets of paper folded over, 2 crayons, and a mini catalog packet.  Hand them to rowdy kids in stores-the moms will love you 🙂

Hostess Happy Mail for my Thirty-One Hostesses!

Happy Mail is one of my FAVORITE parts of celebrating my hostesses. So I just wanted to give everyone an example of some of the things I do.

When I have a hostess, I send happy mail for two months AFTER their party month.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Everything I get, I get from the Dollar Tree. Super easy, super fun!

I make fun labels through

And then I print those labels from

All items I ship are mailed “as-is”. I never package anything. It’s fun get something FUN in the mail!

Most items cost around $2 to ship.

The hostesses address label gets put right on the outside of whatever I’m mailing.

WHY do I do this?

Because I am giving 200% customer service.

I am showing MY hostesses that I appreciate them well after their party is over.

Because they LOVE IT.

Because they brag to their friends about it.

Because they post pictures of their happy mail on Facebook and Instagram! And guess who that helps? It lets everyone know THEY know an awesome and highly recommended Thirty-One consultant.

Because if they host a party with another company and consultant, they will be like WOW…Melissa was WAY better!

Because it keeps them coming back for MORE;)

Thirty-One Hostess VIP Facebook Event

You guys ready to find out how I booked TEN parties and got four new AMAZING potential recruits last night? All in 30 minutes on FACEBOOK?!

I tried something new. I took a chance, dove head first and it paid off big time!

What do you say? You up for a challenge? Cause you know I made the entire script to share with all of YOU. You’ll find the link for the script below!


So here’s the deal. I created a Facebook event and invited all of my past hostesses.

The night before the event i sent messages to anyone who had not joined the event, to let them know they would be getting to see all the new fall product.

I basically had this outline:
1. Fall Fashion show to high light some of the new product.
2. booking blitz
3. then I handed them the link to the new fall catalog.

I booked TEN parties and got four potential recruits! They had so much fun being the first to see the new products. It went over better than i ever expected!! I have honestly NEVER had that much interaction on a FB event!

So this is what I want you to do.
1. create the event NOW. 30 minute event
2. invite all your hostesses and let them know they’re going to get to see the new fall catalog FIRST
3. Then download the Facebook script below
4. Then EDIT that document with your own business information instead of mine.
5. Download all the PHOTOS for this script (you can right click on the images in the document and save them to your desktop)
6. and you’re ready to ROCK!!!

**This is time sensitive! You want to do this like Monday night!! Or Sunday night! I did mine at 9pm Eastern.
**you can give away prizes randomly too if you want.
**keep it SIMPLE. EASY. QUICK. don’t add a bunch of stuff and go over the time.
**I posted every TWO MINUTES a new post in my event
**I used to schedule all those posts and it went seamlessly!!

Matchbox Dice Booking Game for Your Direct Sales Parties

I found the most AWESOME booking game for my Thirty-One home parties! I’m going to call it the Matchbox Dice Booking Game, cause I like to make up words. LOL!

It was so easy and so fun for the guests! I saw a blog post from Deb Bixler that sparked the idea, so I knew I had to make it my own! Watch this video to learn more and then find major details below on how to make your own, what prizes go in the boxes, etc.

So here is what it all looks like

(now there’s a #1 box in that picture. You won’t need a #1 box)



1. fiesta bowl or vegetable tray…whatever that thing is called 🙂

2. Matchboxes (I found mine at Hobby Lobby. They were made by Paper Studio)

3. Large colorful dice (or regular dice if you want to be that guy. Just kidding! Regular dice are fine!)

4. Some slips of paper to insert your prizes into the boxes. I used cardstock and made sure they fit in there pretty tight so they would stay in the bottom.


It is VERY important that you use these exact #’s for the prize boxes. Someone out there has done the statistics of how many times a # was likely to be rolled. So, for instance, the #2 was the least rolled #. So you’re going to want to put your Gran Prize in that box!

#2- Grand Prize

#3 and #4- Prizes

#’s 5-9 are Book a Show

#’s 10-12 are prizes

What do you give away as the prizes?:

~key fobs

~$5 off your order

~free customer special (only if it’s cheap)

~Pick a prize (have a prize box with lots of little goodies from your company-key fobs, nail files, things from dollar bins at Target. etc)

What happens if two people get the same number?:

Nothing! When someone rolls the dice and gets their number, they open the box and see what their prize is. And then they put the box back on the tray! So it’s ok if someone rolls the dice and gets the same number.

How does this compare to my purse booking game?:

I will use them BOTH! They are both equally effective when it comes to booking. However, I like this matchbook dice booking game because I don’t have to switch out the prizes or anything. They just stay in the box. It’s cheap, but it’s adorable and kind of irresistible, so they can’t stand not to play!

The biggest time consumption I had with the purse game is that I had to change out the slips in them. And with 20 purses, it is sometimes a chore. Effective, but a chore.

So…final conclusion is that I will alternate this Matchbox Dice Booking Game AND the purse booking game. When I have a party with a ton of repeat guests, I’ll be able to switch it up a little!

Christmas in July for Your Thirty-One VIP Hostesses!

So I was literally dipping my bacon into my biscuits and gravy this morning…and thinking about what my event was going to be for my Hostess Appreciation thing-a-ma-jig. And I kept going over in my head what other people do.

So most people hold a BIG shindig once a year, usually in January or February, or maybe in November and December. And they get their hostess to fill a table and give away prizes. I loved the idea, I just couldn’t get a grasp on MY way of wanting to do it.

Then it occurred to me…if you’re holding this once a year, you’re only encouraging them to BOOK once a year, right? I mean, you’re probably messaging them throughout the year, and doing this and that, but basically one big event a year.

And it totally dawned on me that i want to book my hostesses TWICE a year! Not once! So, along comes my VIP Christmas in July event!! WOOT WOOT!!


So here it goes! Check out this video below, and I have some details below that!

So here’s some random thoughts on this event as I was writing notes on my menu at the restaurant this morning 🙂

~All hostesses from January-July of 2015 are invited to a one night event just for them. Make a BIG deal of it!

~They will be the first to see the new Thirty-One fall products and see the new fall catalog

~You give away prizes from your Retirement List. These products won’t be in the new catalog that starts in August anyway! So use them to BOOK!

~Leverage this in your Thirty-One closed customer groups on Facebook to book MORE parties in June and July so they can be added to THIS event!

~I will be providing pizza for my Bingo table, so free dinner too!

~Start your Thirty-One Fall season off with a BANG!

~Have your hostesses booking twice a year instead of just once!

~This is an opportunity to celebrate and reward your hostesses, and create a loyalty like no other!

~Instead of a quick sale with an auction of all those retired products…think like the smart business woman you are and use them to BOOK PARTIES and create a LASTING money line throughout the rest of the year! A quick sale is just that. A dead-end! But a booking….oh…the places you can go 😉
